another one of those "download the viewbar and watch it crash your computer and get money for it". i actually downloaded this one, it's not that bad, but it looks like it'll be september or so until i get any money from them, but that's okay. it's better than nothing.
Saturday, June 17, 2000 -- 05:09 p.m.
the last group of people that i actually knew in high school is graduating on this saturday. these people were just sophomores when i graduated. they can't be ready to graduate yet! i feel so old...

said that that mississippi and the no fractions thing isn't true. it says that it is... i think i'm going to have to try and investigate this one further. you never know what some of those whacked politicians are going to try and do.
i was sad to find out that our library (at indiana university) isn't really sinking. i really did believe that one. i'm iffy on the mississippi one, but it was definantely funny enough to post.
Tuesday, May 23, 2000 -- 12:51 a.m.
from snopes.com
this may be from an urban ledgend resource page, but this stary is actually true. i'm now truely scared of mississippi because of this and kansas because of the whole evolution/creationism fiasco.

msnbc.com opinions on bobby knight
"To use a favorite word of Knight’s, it was a gutless decision. Let me ask Indiana University President Myles Brand a question: If an English professor choked a student for doing poorly on a Chaucer exam, would you give him another chance? I don’t think so."
i'm pretty pissed that he wasn't fired. in the campus paper the next day, about 99% of everything written was supporting myles brand's decision and that's just bullshit. why does bobby knight get his own set of conduct rules? oh yeah, because he's a white male from indiana who's involved in basketball. duh!
knight will probably behave for a year, if we're lucky, and then the stupid trustees will stop watching him, and he'll go back to his old antics. and you know they're never going to actually fire him because he brings money to the school.
it is actually in his contract that he cannot be fired. the only time he has to leave is when he wants to. he's got all of the trustees and the university president right where he wants them, bowing to him and worshipping him and sucking his dick.
i am ashamed to be a student at indiana university.

""If you go out and you steal s*** from the Internet," Patrick said, gathering steam, "bad MP3 files, get pirated copies, all you're doing is taking a big s*** on us as a band. And if you're really fans of the music and you love us, don't rip us off like this. And we will sue these people."
"I will stand behind Lars [Ulrich] from Metallica," Patrick said, reaching his denouement. "I will stand behind Dr. Dre. I will stand behind anybody that wants to do this, because this is our livelihood. And you know, it's one thing when you get a crappy cassette copy from your buddy down the street....now it's digital-quality reproductions, blah, blah, blah" (his words not ours)."
